An hourly rate is usually not enough to compare pest-control quotes. Two technicians can spend different amounts of time because the diagnosis, access, materials, treatment zones, equipment, documentation and follow-up differ. Ask for the completed scope and total assumptions rather than choosing on the hourly number alone.
For a quote tied to the problem, see pest control in Rockhampton.
What an hourly figure may not tell you
- whether inspection or diagnosis is included;
- which pest and areas are covered;
- whether materials or equipment are extra;
- whether travel or access time is included;
- whether monitoring or a return visit is included;
- what happens if the reported pest is misidentified;
- whether proofing recommendations are part of the service.
A fixed scope is not automatically better either. The point is to understand the finding, included work, exclusions and next step.
Compare the outcome you are buying
Ask each provider to describe the pest problem, treatment areas, preparation, follow-up and written records. Then compare equivalent scopes. Time can be one input, but it is not the service itself.
