Many substances can kill individual exposed termites, but that is not the useful objective. Spraying or crushing the termites you can see may disturb the workings, scatter activity and remove evidence needed for assessment. Leave the area undisturbed, record the location and arrange a termite inspection before choosing treatment.

- Stop opening or cleaning the affected area.
- Keep a clear photo and note the exact location.
- Gather previous termite reports and treatment records.
- Mention leaks, renovations, drainage or landscaping changes.
- Arrange inspection and ask for a written treatment options.
The treatment decision should consider confirmed activity, access, construction, entry risks and the extent that can be assessed. A visible kill does not show what remains concealed.
